Background
The goal of UNESCO is to use education, the sciences, culture, communication, and information to promote the establishment of a culture of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development, and intercultural understanding. UNESCO seeks to foster conversation across civilizations, cultures, and peoples that is founded on respect for shared ideals. The world can attain global ideals of sustainable development—all of which are at the core of UNESCO's mandate and activities—through this discussion, which encompasses respect for one another, observance of human rights, and the reduction of poverty.

Note: This council will follow HMUN Rules of Procedure.
Topic 1: Preserving Indigenous Languages, Cultures, and Heritages for a Mutually-Understanding Society
It is through Indigenous languages that people of Indigenous identities transmit cultural values to their children and fully exercise their rights and human dignity. Significantly, the vast Indigenous cultures and heritages foster the unique traditions and knowledge that secure their self-identity and conserve the natural land they occupy. Safeguarding this multi-layered diversity of Indigenous groups is the utmost duty by UNESCO through implementation of effective strategies, embracing technological advancement, and spreading community voices.
Topic 2: Promoting Gender Equality in STEM
The field of STEM, bearing its ever-expanding job opportunities, are set to be in demand and well-paying as we move towards a sustainable future each fleeting day. As such, we best ensure that this future is inclusive and equitable in representing working women and supporting young girls who wish to venture into STEM. In UNESCO, the total eradication of gender discrimination and past stereotypes is the ultimate effort of the whole, in order to flourish diverse ideas, experiences and innovations from diverse people given equal chances.
